A wee Watermelon update!
So the past few months have been the most difficult time we’ve faced as a family. As we always prioritise our family and health over business we have not been as active on our socials or as physically present in the studio as usual.
Unfortunately we will not be running our annual charity flash day this Halloween, however Noemi will be planning something in the future to raise funds for brain tumour research.
Since opening the new studio we have faced many challenges and we are still facing many new challenges as a business. This winter will be a difficult time for various reasons in the tattoo industry as a whole. We feel like we haven’t stopped working since we opened Watermelon 7 years ago and were hoping with a bigger studio and having more artists we could finally take a step back and invest more time in our children and personal health & wellbeing. We have always been the first to open the doors of the studio and the last to leave at night, more often than not 6 days per week.
Whilst we have put the needs of our business and artists over our own personal wellbeing perhaps we have learnt a lesson that we need to slow the f&k down and look after ourselves a little more.
We’ve had a much needed island break to clear our heads, in preparation of Noemis upcoming treatment, and so we can figure out the coming months for the studio in Noemis absence.
We honestly can’t thank enough for the words of support and acts of kindness that so many people have shared over the past few months. From complete strangers, to returning artists and friends in the trade it’s been so reassuring to know that so many people have our backs in this difficult time.
The next few weeks/ months will be very difficult so please continue to keep us in your thoughts.
In the mean time I’ll try to pull my head out of my arse and crack on with the neverending to- do list and promise to post more content!
Thanks to our wonderful Sofie for taking care of the studio in our absence and to all our followers, customers and artists for the patience and support ❤️
Noemi and Sandie xx
