The national flower of Scotland, a sign of resilience, strength, resolve, protection and pride. The story goes that the thistle protected Scotland; waking a defending army against an attack- as the invaders attempted a sneak night attack they stepped on some thistles and their cries alerted the Scottish forces to their presence. However, like most modern Scottish tradition, it was likely made up by Sir Walter Scott. Still, it’s a pretty badass flower and twinned with the fact that the Unicorn is our national animal, an immense source of pride.
More thistles please!!!!!
All included in this collage are tattoos by Noemi, who is also an official Scottish citizen, despite her distain for our weather.
