Who we are
Watermelon Tattoo is a family run tattoo studio formed by partners Noemi Sorrentino and Sandie Tweedie. We are based at East Norton Place Edinburgh- a 15 minute walk from Waverley train station.
Noemi has been an established tattoo artist in various countries for over 16 years (as of 2024). She specialises in her own individual watercolour style but is very competent in delivering a variety of styles to suit the needs of each customer. Sandie worked for 12 years in various capacities with adults and children with disabilities. He left his vocation to manage Watermelon Tattoo with Noemi so that they can spend more time with their two children and each other. Sandie is your first point of contact when enquiring for an appointment, he is always at hand to offer advice and is constantly liaising with Noemi to offer you the best support and response to your enquiries.
What we do
We offer bespoke tattoos in a friendly, warm and invited space. From initial consultation to aftercare our main priority is that you are 100% happy with the design, comfortable and feel confident to look after your tattoo. We would never ever judge anyone on their choice of a tattoo as we understand that body art is a form of individual expression. There is no job too big or too small, too weird or cliche. As we can have up to three artists working at a time we respect that you may wish for some privacy, particularly if your tattoo is in a discreet area, please let us know prior to your appointment and we can use our partition. We are always on hand during our opening hours, so feel free to pop in and have a chat about your ideas, even if you aren’t sure about to committing to a tattoo.
We are an invited space for everyone, even if you do not identify with the tattoo ‘scene’ you will find our shop doesn’t necessarily look like your average tattoo studio. We are not motivated by profit so would never try to make you feel rushed into anything or feel like you are being squeezed into a crowded environment.
We hope you would never feel intimidated coming through our doors and comfortable in asking whatever you like, there are no stupid questions. Noemi is our lead artists in residence though we host a multitude of guest artists from all over the world throughout the year who each deliver their own unique style. We only use sterilised equipment and do not offer piercings.
We only host artists who are licensed, established and of a very high standard.
Walk- ins are welcome though please note we can be very busy, particularly at the weekends.
