Something we are most proud of; and a huge factor in us moving space is accessibility.
Every other week we are welcoming new customers with mobility needs- with many travelling from all over Scotland and north of England. We often host artists from other local studios if they have been contacted by a wheelchair user- we are always open to other artists using our space if the physical layout of their studio doesnt align with the needs of their customer.
This is at no fault of other studios- Edinburgh is a horrendous city to navigate as a wheelchair user- most of the city centre buildings are listed, very old and thus unable to gain planning permission to adjust their spaces to be more accessible.
On street disability parking spaces is an issue we have raised and will continue to deliberate with the council- that massive bus lane in front of the studio can definitely be shortened to make way for a space or two.
Carers/ plus ones for people with additional needs are always permitted into the tattoo area.
We still have a bit of work to do but accessibility is an issue very close to our hearts and lived experiences. It’s been such a pleasure to watch our space host more and more people who often face barriers that can limit their participation in the tattoo world and can ultimately affect their self expression ❤️
