Born in Rio de Janeiro, Luiza came into contact with art from an early age encouraged by her grandmother she started drawing and painting watercolors since she was 11 years old. For more than a decade Luiza was drawing and producing comics for independent magazines and fanzines and sold at conventions.
At 17, Luiza entered university to study Industrial Design, one year later, she began her work as an apprentice tattoo artist. After 2 years she turned professional and has since been inspired by the example of great tattoo artists; as Mauro Nunes, Emily Rose, Justin Hartman, Lars, Eckel and Gogue, as well as other artists such as Alphonse Mucha.
For the past eleven years she has participated in various worldwide conventions, winning an assortment of awards along the way. In 2013 she opened her own studio:ART LINE TATTOO STUDIO in Rio de Janeiro, which is still trading today.
Her love for Scotland and cold weather brought her and her young family to Edinburgh. Some of Luiza’s favourite themes are: art nouveau figures, flowers, nature, girls and animals. Nevertheless she is open to any size and style- every tattoo is welcome.
